CW at TCA: Atom Spin off, Firestorm Costume, Animated Series and More!


The CW has dropped a some bombshells in the past two days at the TCA Press Tour (Televison Critics Association) So being the nice guys we are, we've compiled them into a one convient article just for you. Enjoy!

Arrow and Flash Renewed



“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said CW President Mark Pedowitz. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”

The CW is also renewing Jane the Virgin, Reign, Supernatural, The 100, The Originals and The Vampire Diaries.

New Animated Series "Vixen" for CW Seed



CW has Greenlit a new animated series to run on their online content branch, CW Seed. The series will be based on the DC hero Vixen and will also feature the Arrow and Flash characters along with enlisting Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim as an Executive Producer. This new series even though it is animated will take place in the same continuity as Arrow and Flash.



Vixen is a lesser known DC character debuting in the 80's, She has the ability to use the power of any one animal at a time. Vixen has been a part of the Justice League, Birds of Prey and even the Suicide Squad.


"The Atom" Spinoff Coming?



There's not much to be said here. Ray Palmer AKA The Atom (Brandon Routh) may be taking the path of The Flash and using Arrow as a launching point for his own series. Routh has stated that he will be suited up as The Atom before the end of the season. So we may be having another freshmen series a long with next years Flash season 2 and Arrow season 4.
